How-to · HTML to URL

Share an HTML file as a link

Emailing an .html attachment rarely works: the recipient opens it in the wrong app, or images and styles break. Publishing it as a link means anyone can open it in a browser. Here is how to do it without a repository or deployment setup.

Publish an HTML file

In short

  • Paste HTML or load a .html file and review the sandboxed live preview.
  • Free links stay online for 1, 7 or 30 days; paid plans add permanent pages.
  • A private edit key lets you update the same URL without an account.
  • Shared pages send noindex headers — they are for previews, not SEO hosting.

Step by step

  1. Paste or load your HTML in the editor.
  2. Check the live preview, which runs locally in an isolated sandbox.
  3. Choose how long it stays online — 1, 7 or 30 days on the free plan.
  4. Create the link and share it.

Updating without changing the URL

The first publish returns a private edit key saved in your browser. Use it to update the page and renew its expiry while keeping the same link — useful when a client asks for changes after you have sent the URL.

What not to publish

Never publish secrets, API keys, customer data, internal-only links or content you do not have permission to share. The preflight review catches common patterns but does not replace your own check.

Frequently asked questions

Does JavaScript work?

Yes. Pages can run browser-side JavaScript inside an origin-isolated sandbox with no access to HTMLtoURL Pro cookies.

Is my HTML uploaded while I preview?

No. HTML preview runs locally; nothing is uploaded until you create or update a share link.

Can a page stay online permanently?

Yes, on Starter, Pro and Business plans, which include permanent page slots from $39 per year.
